This painting is inspired by the parable of The pearl of great price, where the kingdom of God is compared to a precious pearl for which a person is willing to sell everything they had to get it. When watching a sunset it appeared to me that it looked like a pearl in its shell, leading to combining these two ideas into a picture that suggests healing and precious hope!
